Self-Portrait #2

For the first time in my photography shenanigans, I now have 2 fully functioning off-camera flashes. This is going help make my action sports photos 10 times more radical. Since it’s been raining in Nanaimo, I figured I would shoot a quick self-portrait in my room to test it out.
I’ve only got one flash stand for now, so the second flash I just held it away from my face with my left hand.

Strobist:
Vivitar 285HV – 1/4 (camera right, close to subject)
Canon Speedlite 580EX II – 1/2 (camera left)

Dipping the port underwater during a high performance maneuver is pretty risky, especially when you're not using a wide lens. Sometimes you blow shots, get pissed and keep swimming. But other times you get a neat one of @cohenscorner and it ends up on @surfline ! Even though every time I look at this shot I think about how sweet the next frame would have been, just leaves me wanting more.
