In snowboarding you can never go wrong with sunshine and pillows, and today was no exception.
Justin and I went up to Mount Seymour again but this time we were not constricted by time or bad weather. We started things exactly where we left off, at the Brockton cliffs.

Straight Air (above)

FS 180 (above/below)

Pow Slash (below)

Afterwards we hiked out into the backcountry so we could look for some pre-made jumps.

We’re not sure why this helicopter was flying so low, it just kept doing laps around us. (below)

Then he brought me to the legendary “City Booter” Made famous in the rein of 90’s snowboarding, some would say it’s what makes the Seymour backcountry as it gets build in the exact same spot every year.

I’m entering a photo essay contest and I need up to 7 photos that tell a story and fall under the theme “Mountain Adventure & Exploration”. Let me know which ones are your favourites!

They’re all spectacular: I personally LOVE the last one. Amazing!

    Best of luck…

These are really awesome! In my blog I take pictures and write short stories about them to ‘explain it all’… these are great inspiration (though I use historical pics). I love the one with the snowboards peaking just slightly out of the snow in the foreground. I feel like I am there! Cool.

  10. March 25, 2011 at 2:22 pm

I was all longing for spring to come) but after I saw these – I want winter back))) so cool and bright – wonderful!

Wow beautiful! I tried snowboarding for a while, I was pretty good at getting down the hill but my arms and legs just wouldn’t work together to get back up the ski lift. The last or third last pictures are my favourite. They are all fantastic though! Kudos!

  12. March 25, 2011 at 3:12 pm

I really like 1, 3 and 4th! Great job! Good luck!

  13. March 25, 2011 at 3:21 pm

    Pow slash is unexpected.
I love snow and fir-trees, so I am partial to 6 and 7.
The last but one is like, hey you can do this almost not leaving your city…urban snowboarding, cool.A man suspended between nature and city…

    Great photos!

  14. March 25, 2011 at 3:33 pm

    Cool snaps!
Great timing, and I am loving the snowboard colors. 🙂

  15. March 25, 2011 at 3:48 pm

I’m jealous, that looks like a blast. Why wasn’t I invited?
Great photos and congrats on being Freshly Shreded, I mean Freshly Pressed. 🙂

  16. March 25, 2011 at 3:53 pm

These photos are unbelievable!! The second last one is my absolute favourite!

    Good luck! 🙂

  17. March 25, 2011 at 3:56 pm

I want to learn how to do this. I am an average skier. Have been since age 6. I am pretty much the same level that I was at age 8 which is lower intermediate at its best and I mean that… there is a strict line in there. If you take me to the diamond trails yes I will chicken out and I will not be able to do it. That is it and final. I can not do the diamond trails. It seems so tough to convert skiers skills over to snow boarding skills, because snowboarders ride so fluid and curvy where as skiers have everything so straight and geometrically curves are more square I think.

  22. March 25, 2011 at 5:39 pm

Impressive! I think my favorite is the last one, very unexpected, and I also like #4. Well done!

  23. March 25, 2011 at 6:31 pm

Great photos! I like #1,3,5,8,9,& 10. Good luck on the contest.

  24. March 25, 2011 at 7:53 pm

The composition on 1, 2, 9, and 10 are off the charts! The orange clothes and green board are the perfect contrast to the base colors of blue and white. I suspect you’ll do well in the photo essay contest. 🙂 Good luck!

  25. March 25, 2011 at 8:00 pm

I like 1,3,4,7,9. One and three exibit fine composition. I like their balance. Four is unique. I like the contrast of scale in nine. Seven is a shot any skier or boarder can relate to. Nothing better than the view from the top on a sunny day. (Is it Vancouver? Looks like it, from what I remember anyway. Use to visit there when I lived in Seattle.)

  26. March 25, 2011 at 8:46 pm

I really like the second from the bottom and the one above that! Beautiful pics!

  27. March 25, 2011 at 8:47 pm

My favorite picture is your last one. Who was the snowboarder in that picture and what happened to him? Did he land safely?

  28. March 25, 2011 at 9:05 pm

Beautiful pictures. Such a nice view at the peak… but I don’t think I can climb up there to ski…
    Thanks for sharing.

  51. March 27, 2011 at 4:54 am

Hey, you didn’t put number to your photos, thus it quite hard for us to tell you which photo is our favorite…. Photo count from the last 3, I like that.

  52. March 27, 2011 at 10:28 am

One and three screams mountain adventure in my opinion.

  53. March 27, 2011 at 10:38 am

  54. March 27, 2011 at 2:19 pm

    Wonderful…. i never touch snow

  55. March 27, 2011 at 2:28 pm

I would include shots numbers 1,3,4,5,6,8 and 10 definitely tell a story. Maybe #5 as first shot and #4 as the final shot.
They are all beautiful and amazing.Good luck in the contest.

  56. March 27, 2011 at 3:17 pm

Great pics man. Looked like you guys had a lot of fun.

  57. March 27, 2011 at 8:27 pm

    great pictures and interesting,…………………!

  58. March 27, 2011 at 9:00 pm

Your pictures are Magnificent! I would love to live like that…

  59. March 27, 2011 at 9:33 pm

Your pictures are awe-inspiring! I am a bit physically challenged–so I walk with a cane and cannot get out to do this level of activity. But I can live vicariously on such adventures through such great shots. In telling your 7-pic story for the photo-contest, I would say use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 10. You could tell it well wiht fewer–but these give perspective and people–a key component for telling the story. Good luck.

And congrats on FP. I am new to this blogging experience but I recognize how impressive that distinction is.

Absolutely Stunning pics. Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed. Now you will have more opinion from a lot of people on ur pictures which should make your job on picking up the pictures for your contest easier 😉 The third from the last is my favorite and the next two that follows are also neat. First one is stunning. Good luck!

  62. March 28, 2011 at 2:49 am

great post, great picture, great moment

  63. March 28, 2011 at 2:58 am

Great shots. My favourites are the ones with the colour contrast, especially the last one and the one with the guy at the top of the hill and the paraphenalia in the foreground. The trees are nice but not so striking as images. Thanks for sharing. x

  64. March 28, 2011 at 3:46 am

I am not a snowboarder, but these pictures are awesome. I really like #4, 8,9, and 10. Goodluck!
