Big Red Bin

At the beginning on the season I noticed this large storage bin against a building by the Olympic venue at Cypress. Two days ago I was at the mountain and decided that even though it hasn’t snowed in 3 weeks, I would build it up so someone could jib on it. Yesterday was that day. Max (from Happy Boarding) originally was the only one who was planning on trying this thing. While Ryan and I were doing park laps waiting for him to get off work, we met some homies and a had a bit of a jib jam on the down box, I showed them a photo of the feature and they couldn’t help but get stoked.

The snow was ice, the landing was made of death cookies, and the top had about 6 inches of water on it.
The light was bad, I had to keep my flash on camera, and I fell in the puddle at the end of the day.
Nothing is impossible, but I have a feeling we’ll be back to do this again next snowfall.

Props to Ryan Cutting for being the first one to try it, especially since this jib is defiantly not skier friendly. (above)
