You might remember Mike Snell from his starring role in the short film “Kooks: A Love Story”. Since his brief cameo appearance in the sequel, he’s now back from traveling and plans to return to his claim of fame.
April 1st, I woke up at 5:30am.
I made it to the summit of Vargus Cone at 6:20am, set up my camera then began to wait. I had brought my headphones, but decided to against it. I quite enjoyed listening to the birds singing and the waves crashing. Though all I was doing was staring into a dark landscape, I was content. First light had passed, and I hit start on my camera. As soon as the raise of light came over the mountains, I had no thoughts. I could only feel myself breathing. It was at that moment, I realized that this was the first time I had ever seen a sunrise.
So we’ve officially entered into Spring. But around here, most people consider there to be only 2 seasons: Summer & Winter. Technically, I guess we’re still on the tail-end of Winter then. May, that’s when Summer starts. Even though Summer isn’t actually until June 21st… Whatever. It’s March.
On a more relevant note, here are a couple shots of two locals pros from this afternoon.
Welcome back to Canada Lew!
This random couch on the side of the road by my house just wasn’t the same without these boys perched on it. That’s what I love about Tofino, if you leave your home for more than 30 seconds you’re more than likely to run into your friends.
Multitasking can be difficult. For me, it’s that delicate balance between shooting photos and filming (and of course my own surfing). It’s frustrating at times, but I feel like I’m starting to find the right formula of when to do which. Maybe one day when my “A.D.D” subsides I can finally focus on one thing, though I wouldn’t bet on me becoming a pro surfer any time soon.
That being said, The Kooks 3 teaser will be released within the week, so you can all get an idea of what we’ve been up to. STAY TUNED!
